Mhairi Bruce
Dip. Swedish Massage, Dip. Sports and Remedial Massage, SMTO
Healthcare Assistant / Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist

Originally from a creative background, Mhairi studied at the Glasgow School of Art Graduating with a BA (Hons) degree in Textile Design. Working for three years as head stylists assistant, she travelled across Britain liaising with PR and the press, launching advertising campaigns and organising fashion shows. Mhairi gradually realised whilst working in such a fast-paced industry, her work/life balance was out of sync. So, when she was made redundant in 2012 she happily took a leap of faith and booked a one way ticket to Australia. Whilst living in Australia, Mhairi saw the benefits of a more relaxed way of life where exercise, nutrition, health and alternative therapies contribute to physical and mental health. It was at this stage Mhairi decided to re-train as a sports massage therapist and make a significant difference in people’s wellbeing. Her Granny always told her ‘you’re so caring; you would make a brilliant nurse’!
In addition to her massage qualifications, Mhairi is also runs our Ear Wax Removal service, being fully qualified in microsection and ear health screening. Â
Mhairi is fully qualified and insured in both Sports and Swedish Massage Therapy having gained both diplomas from the Scottish Massage School. She tailors each treatment to the needs of her clients using both remedial and relaxation techniques and prides herself in her personable approach. As a registered member of the SMTO, continued development is essential for her.Â
In her professional career Mhairi has had the privilege of working with the under 20’s Scottish rugby team, gaining further knowledge in specific sporting injuries. She has worked with runners, golfers, boxers, cyclists, dancers and many more elite and amateur sporting enthusiasts. Having also previously worked as part of an occupational health department she has worked with clients suffering from postural discomfort, stress, headaches and anxiety. Mhairi is recently back to work after becoming a mum for the first time. A full time job itself that she thoroughly enjoys!Â
She has embraced motherhood and regularly partakes in pilates at Life-Fit, buggy fit and hillwalking all with her little girl in toe!Â
